I did my Batchelor's in Physiotherapy from M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences). I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 years of academic period with the  resultant that I was a Topper all the four years. My hardwork paid off. During the 6 months of internship, I was trained in independently bringing about an evaluation, to differentialy diagnose, plan out a treatment protocol and execute the rehabilitation program of wide spectrum of patient population which includes Orthopedics, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Cardio respiratory, Neurology, Neurosurgery, ICU, Oncology and Out Patients Department. During this period I also worked at outreach physiotherapy programs conducted by M.S. Ramaiah Medical College at Satya Sai Hospital, Bangalore. Attended Single day visits organized by the college to various institutions like association for physically challenged persons in Bangalore, Urban Slums to gain better understanding of community based rehabilitation programmes. About Me
[edit | edit source]

I did my Bachelor's in Physiotherapy from M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences). I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 years of academic period with the resultant that I was a Topper all the four years. My hardwork paid off. During the 6 months of internship, I was trained in independently bringing about an evaluation, to differentially diagnose, plan out a treatment protocol and execute the rehabilitation program of wide spectrum of patient population which includes Orthopedics, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Cardio respiratory, Neurology, Neurosurgery, ICU, Oncology and Out Patients Department. Prostheses and Orthoses manufacturing unit– Artificial Limb Center etc. I realised that the need for Physiotherapy is never-ending.

Due to a gradual drift from electrotherapy to Hands-on approach, I have always been keen on Manual Therapy, which I opted for and completed my Post-graduation Program from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Manipal University. The 2 years program acted as a catalyst for my thirst for knowledge. During this rigorous period of post-graduation which included numerous case presentations and never forgetting seminars, I got trained in systematic compilation of data and evidence based practise. I feel lucky to have been trained under great Physiotherapists and it also increases the responsibility to add value to this profession.

I am currently working as an assistant professor in a renowned college in PUNE, India. I now realise that its easy to be a student but being a teacher, a good teacher is far more challenging. I feel that to raise the level of Physiotherapy profession, esp in country like India, it is very important to provide quality education to the upcoming young PTs in making. Project like Physio-pedia is one such attempt. I am therefore very glad to be a member of this group and be a small part to bring about a big change.
