About Me
I am a neurological physiotherapist in the UK, with a special interest in Facial Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury and Stroke.
My teaching interests include training therapists to use Surface Electromyography (sEMG) equipment, as well as running workshops on use of sEMG for evaluation of nerve problems, and for Biofeedback.
In addition I teach regular courses on use of Trophic Electrical Stimulation and lead workshops to physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists on Rehabilitation for Facial Palsy.
As part of the team presenting the Manchester Facial Palsy Course in 2009 and 2011 I lectured to ENT, Opthalmic and Plastic Surgeons on rehabilitation in facial palsy.
Co-author of paper delivered at XI International Facial Nerve Symposium, Rome, Italy, April 2009.
I am Physiopedia Topic Expert for Facial Palsy and Facial Nerve.
In summer 2022 I spent a few weeks working as a volunteer in Malawi, and was able to establish links between Physiopedia, Plus and the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course at Kamuzu University, Blantyre, Malawi. Here is an article about this experience.

Studied at Withington Hospital School of Physiotherapy, 1979-1982. Graduate Diploma of Physiotherapy.
