Origin:[edit | edit source]

Ischial tuberosity and lower part of lesser sciatic notch

Insertion:[edit | edit source]

Blends with tendon of obturator internus, and gets inserted into medial surface of greater trochanter of femur

Nerve supply:[edit | edit source]

Nerve to Quadratus Femoris (L4, L5, S1)[3]
