Sociological Basis of Pain
Welcome to PPA Pain Project. This page is being developed by participants of a project to populate the Pain section of Physiopedia. The project is supervised and co-ordinated by the The Physiotherapy Pain Association.

Tips for writing this page:
- Describe the impact of age, gender, family, culture, spirituality, and the environment on the pain experience
- Pain across the life span
Describe the implications and assessment of pain in infancy, childhood, and adolescence with reference to optimizing physical, psychological, educational and social development and integrate these into the management strategy.
Including specific problems faced by the elderly with painful conditions with respect to the influence of co-morbidities, access to appropriate services and maintenance of independence etc - Describe and explain the thoery of social learning in relation to pain.
- Arguably any of these points could be large enough to be an artcle of thier own - if yo wish to write an article about one thing inparticular, please get in touch.
