Task 1: Creating a new page in Physiopedia[edit | edit source]

Creating new pages in Physiopedia is a daunting but (once you have done it once) a very simple task!

This page can be on any topic that doesn’t already exist in Physiopedia. It can be in any clinical area (there is a lot of space for contributions outside the MSK arena i.e. respiratory, neurology, paediatrics etc) or even add to our Resources (e.g. an outcome measure or clinical guideline).

  1. Search - First you must choose a page to create that doesn’t already exist in Physiopedia. Use the ‘search’ box to check what is already available. Make sure that you search using all the terms that might refer to the topic that you are interested in.
  2. Create Page - there are three ways to create a new page, see here for help - http://www.physio-pedia.com/Creating_a_new_page
  3. Add a Template - once you have created your new page you may wish to add a Template to your page (not necessary but may be appropriate). You can see a list of Templates here - http://www.physio-pedia.com/Templates#Article_Templates. When you have chosen the template you wish to use follow these Adding Templates instructions - http://www.physio-pedia.com/Adding_Templates
  4. Edit the Page - once your template has been added you can make edits to the page to add content. You are welcome to change any sub-headings or create new ones as you feel is appropriate
  5. References - the content that you add to the page must be evidence based. Please make sure that you use the referencing functionality correctly. See here for help - http://www.physio-pedia.com/Adding_References
  6. Add Media - all pages are enhanced by the addition of images and/or video. You should add a video and an image to your page. See the Adding Images Tutorial and the Adding Videos Tutorial.

We understand that this task may take some time as you will need to get to grips with all the editing tasks involved in creating a new page. However, completing this task will make you a skilled and confident editor of Physiopedia and give you a great set of skills for your future volunteer roles.

Social Media Sharing - (use the #physiopedia hash tag)

Reflect and share your thoughts on Physiopedia through your favourite social media platform

What have you found most interesting/exciting/useful? What surprised you the most? Share your favourite part of the project?

Task 2:[edit | edit source]

Social Media Sharing - (use the #physiopedia hash tag)

Post a link to your new Physiopedia profile to your favourite social media platform

e.g. "Check out my profile on #physiopedia [link]"  "Get your own online profile on #physiopedia - check mine out [link]"

Task 3: Discussion [edit | edit source]

Go to the Facebook group for all online discussions.

  1. Share a link to your profile page and tell us something about yourself - Say "Hi" to your fellow volunteers! You may have already done this as part of the pre-course activities but if you haven't please post a short summary which tells us where you live, where you work or study, how much experience you have and what you hope to get our of this course.
  2. Following your exploration of the Physiopedia project post some thoughts on what you have learned - what has impressed you the most, what has dissapointed you, what should we work more on?

Please post your discussions in the relevant discussion thread that will be set up for you.

Feel free to start your own discussion thread as well. You can post any question or comment related to what you have learnt this week.
