Education[edit | edit source]

I graduated from University of Central Lancashire in 2010 and started junior rotations at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. I moved to Aintree University Hospitals in 2011 where I worked as a junior physiotherapist in an outpatient musculoskeletal department. I then moved to Blackpool Teaching Hospitals where I spent a further couple of years rotating through different specialities including cardiothoracics, cardiac rehab, medical and elderly care and musculoskeletal outpatients.

I later moved back to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals to the position of Specialist Acute Physiotherapist where I spent time working in the paediatric therapy team. Here I worked in outpatients, inpatients and the neonatal unit.

I then became a Specialist Musculoskeltal Physiotherapist gaining experience within the specialisty spinal and lower limb teams, alongside general musculoskeletal services. During this time period I worked on improving attendance, efficiency and quality of service within the spinal and lower limb services.

I later became Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in Emergency Medicine. Here I worked alongside Nurses, ENP's, Doctors and Consultants within a busy trauma centre Emergency Department.

Alongside this I have worked with Blackburn Rugby Club as the 1st Team Physiotherapist for the season of 2014-2015 gaining vaulable experience in acute trauma and sports rehabilitation. This experience enabled me to complete a Lubus Medical Sports Trauma Management course giving me the skills to be able to work confidently and competantly pitchside.

In addition to this I worked in a private musculoskeletal clinic assessing and treating acute, chronic and medico-legal patients. I have a keen interest in cycling and downhill mountain biking and have had the opportunity to work as event physiotheapist at the British Downhill (mountain bike) Series.
