About Me

I am a Physical Therapy student at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY.  I recently graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science.  I was involved in Red Tassel Mortar Board, an honor's society, and Epsilon Sigma Alpha. During my time at Illinois State, I gained experience in creating exercise prescriptions, ten repetition maximal testing, balance and gain maneuver assessments, and assessing vital signs. 

I was an intern at Alliance Rehab in OakBrook, IL, where I assisted dementia, Parkinson's, and total care residents in exercise programs.  I gained experience in interaction with the geriatric population, as well as, experience in creating programs for this specific population.  I created group exercises classes and a presentation on nutrition and the brain.  I have learned a great deal about exercise and how the body reacts to exercise through interaction with professionals and social networking.  This lead me to an interest in the geriatric population and physical therapy in nursing homes.
