I am currently a student in the doctor of physical therapy program at Bellarmine University. I will be graduating with a DPT degree in December 2010. So far, I have completed two clinical affiliations, both in the outpatient orthopedic setting. I will gain further experience in areas including acute care and rehabilitation in future clinical affiliations. After graduation, I will be working for Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY, for whom I will be fulfilling a scholarship dedication as a Norton Healthcare scholar. I do not yet have an area of expertise, but I have become especially involved in providing physical therapy services to an underserved part of the Louisville community. As a part of a community partner project, myself and three other group members have helped with the establishment of a free physical therapy clinic in Louisville, housed within the Catholic Enrichment Center. We have taken part in a conference for student-run free clinics to learn more about this process and continue each week to develop the operations of the clinic and participate in direct patient care.
