Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) is "a set of person-centred measures that evaluates and monitors physical, mental, and social health in adults"[1]. It aims to improved patient-clinician communication while providing a more precise research outcome measure for quality of life[1]. The PROMIS Global Health-10 a subset of PROMIS which measures health related quality of life.

PROMIS has been validated for use in adults and children in[1]:
- The general population
- Individuals living with chronic conditions
Method of Use[edit | edit source]
PROMIS can be used as a global measurement of health (PROMIS-10), or in short form versions to assess specific domains.
Since this is a patient-reported tool, patient cognition and understanding needs to be assessed before using the outcome measure.
Translations: PROMIS has been translated into various different languages using forward and back translation, multiple expert reviews and cognitive debriefing to ensure that the translations are valid[1]. Current available languages include: Spanish
