Canine Intervertebral Disc Disease

Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is the most common spinal condition in canine patients.[1] It occurs most often in the thoracolumbar region (T3-L3 in particular). There is no gender predisposition, but certain dogs are more predisposed to IVDD, particularly chondrodystrophic breeds (i.e. short-legged phenotype).[2]
