Nephrolithiasis also known as kidney stones is " are small, hard deposits that form inside the kidneys. Kidney stones are made of mineral and acid salts." [1]

Prevalence[edit | edit source]
- 10% of all the population will have kidney stones in his or her life.
- If affects both males and females, but males are 3 times as likely to experience kidney stones within their lifetime.
- Average onset is in people over the age or 30 years old but can affect all ages.
- People who have had kidney stones previously are 5 times more likely to have kidney stones again.
