Saliu Balogun is a Physiotherapist and a Research Fellow in musculoskeletal health and diseases at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania, Australia. He completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Lagos, Nigeria; a master's in Gerontology at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom and a PhD in medical research at the University of Tasmania, Australia. Saliu Balogun is a Physiotherapist and a Research Fellow in musculoskeletal health and diseases at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania, Australia. He completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Lagos, Nigeria; a master's in Gerontology at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom and a PhD in medical research at the University of Tasmania, Australia. His PhD examines the risk factors for and the impact of sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass and quality with ageing) on falls, fractures, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis.

Saliu's research is dedicated to reducing the burden of musculoskeletal disorders among the growing population of older people. He is working with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and researchers to identify strategies to increase referral rates of people with osteoarthritis to exercise therapy.
