I am currently serving as a captain in the US Army with primary focus on musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions in both a referral based and direct access provider.  As a military therapist, we enjoy an extended scope of practice not limited to radiologic ordering, basic medication prescription, activity limiting authority with profile writing permissions, and 100% direct access.  With our broader scope I feel the clinical reasoning skills are extra important in determining conservative vs surgical approaches.  I graduated in 2011 with my DPT from the University of Central Florida and have worked in a variety of sections including acute care, SNF, home health and ortho. I joined the Army in Aug 2013 and have worked primarily in orthopedics and post surgical rehab.  My goals for the next 3 years include: pass OCS, complete orthopedic residency (currently enrolled), and gain acceptance to the Army's FAAOMPT Fellow training.
