This project is a continuing education opportunity offered to physical therapists that are clinical instructors for Bellarmin University in Louisville, KY, USA. The university is offering this as a special opportunity to receive four contact hours of category 1 continuing education credit. This project has state board approval.

Project Objectives[edit | edit source]
The case presentations course will offer strategies to provide
- Clinician exposure to online learning in a wiki format
- Professional writing opportunities for clinicians with external peer review
- Clinician understanding of the components of a case presentation that potentially be published as a case report with the addition of a literature review and supportive studies
- Clinician exposure to professional literature related to current evidence-based practice (EBP) guidelines
- An interactive forum between clinical instructors (CI’s), students and academic faculty for collaborative learning in contemporary practice topics
- An ongoing forum to present contemporary clinical practice standards and expectations
- Academic institution support and appreciation to CI’s for contributions to the training of future clinicians.
Project Directions[edit | edit source]
If you are treating an interesting patient and would like to write the case up in return for credit you can do so by following these instructions:
- Contact Elaine for approval of patient diagnosis
- Write up the case presentation based on this template
- Email your completed case presentation to either Elaine or Dave
- Your case presentation will then be reviewed
- Once approved your case presentation will be added to the appropriate clinical pages in Physiopedia and also to the Case Studies section.
- You will receive your continuing education credit after completing the course feedback survey from this link.
