Add your professional education here.
In December 2012 I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Movement and Sports Science and minor in Spanish from Purdue University. I am currently attending the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Bellarmine University. As my education at Bellarmine progresses, I would like to explore areas in wound care and aquatic physical therapy. I have an interest in both those sub-cateogories of physical therapy and believe I would excel in those areas.

About Me
[edit | edit source]

At a very young age, my parents introduced me to sports and recreational activities such as hiking and canoeing. This early exposure helped me to develop a love for anything active and adventurous. Frequently, my sisters and I were found outside playing basketball in the driveway or building snow ramps on top of our retaining wall to facilitate a farther sled jump. As I advanced in my education, naturally, I used my interest in activities requiring movement to mold my career path. Throughout my undergraduate years I tried new sports, such as rugby, which quickly became a favorite sport of mine. Also during my undergraduate career, I participated as a research assistant in the Health and Kinesiology department with the exercise physiology professor. We followed a protocol using swine in order to determine the effects of maternal exercise during pregnancy on offspring. I learned that I may not necessarily have a desire for research fulltime, but I enjoyed the work and the thought process needed for writing and executing a research design. Following graduation, I began to dabble in CrossFit. CrossFit turned into one of the best decisions I made. Due to bilateral ACL tears, I have always been a bit weak in the knees. CrossFit helped me focus on functional, correct movements. Being able to see the changes to the health of my knees through CrossFit has made me an advocate for that avenue of fitness training.

Education[edit | edit source]

In December 2012 I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Movement and Sports Science and minor in Spanish from Purdue University. I am currently attending the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Bellarmine University. As my education at Bellarmine progresses, I would like to explore areas in wound care and aquatic physical therapy. I have an interest in both those sub-cateogories of physical therapy and believe I would excel in those areas.
