The bone marrow is a spongy tissue found in most bones, in children, it can be found in the long bones. There are two main types of bone marrow, the red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow. The red bone marrow contains brainstems that can differentiate into red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets whereas the yellow bone marrow is made mostly of fat and contains stem cells that differentiate into cartilage, fat, or bone cells. The bone marrow is a spongy tissue found in most bones, in children, it can be found in the long bones. There are two main types of bone marrow, the red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow. The red bone marrow contains brainstems that can differentiate into red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets whereas the yellow bone marrow is made mostly of fat and contains stem cells that differentiate into cartilage, fat, or bone cells.
