I am a physical therapist from Jamaica. I have been a physical therapist for over 15 years. I received a diploma in physical therapy from the School of Physical Therapy in Jamaica. After completing internship I worked in a hospital setting for 4 years. This enabled me to hone my skills as I had to attend to clients with various conditions. I garnered experience attending persons with orthopaedic, neurological, cardiac, respiratory conditions. These clients were from the adult and paediatric populations. I worked outside of Jamaica in a private practice setting for 9 years which I also enjoyed.
 
I returned to Jamaica and was employed as a physical therapist at the UWI Sports Medicine Clinic and also as an adjunct assistant lecturer at the School of Physical Therapy, University of the West Indies. I am a vestibular therapist, a certified lymphoedema therapist and a certified ergonomic assessment specialist. I have also had training in craniofacial therapy. It has been interesting using the knowledge I have gained over the years to treat my clients.
 
I have a MSc. in Sports and Exercise Medicine and currently am the acting academic programme coordinator for that program at the University of the West Indies. I feel extremely blessed to have an occupation that I enjoy. It is fulfilling to see the progress that clients make. I also enjoy being in the academic sphere. It allows me to share knowledge and I too am also learning. I have found myself mentoring students and this has proved to be very satisfying.
