HCPC registered, MCSP, Associate MACP and currently enrolled in an accredited Master's course for full membership in the MACP.
I have participated in the rehabilitation of a wide variety of cases including orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, neurological, geriatric and pediatric patients.
More specifically, my duties involved subjective and objective assessment and treatment of elite athletes (football, volleyball, handball, basketball, gymnastics and athletics), as well as, patients with musculoskeletal disorders (spinal pain, lumbar/cervical radiculopathies, tendon, ligament, cartilage and muscular injuries etc.), orthopaedic patients (fractures, complete tendon/ligament tear repairs, total or partial joint replacements etc.), cardio-respiratory patients (angina pectoris, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart post-op rehabilitation etc.), neurological patients (stroke, paresis, spasticity, ataxia, multiple sclerosis), pediatric patients (torticollis, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, Scheuermann's disease etc.) and geriatric problems (falls prevention, proprioception and balance training etc.). For more complex cases I liaised with the multidisciplinary team to provide the patient with the optimal service.
In order to provide the optimal treatment plan for my service users and be in consonance with the latest scientific literature, the information derived from the assessment process is examined carefully and thoroughly. After dismissing any suspicious finding (red flag) and proper prognosis is reached, a pertinent approach is taken from a broad arsenal of therapeutic techniques such as kinesiotherapy, manual therapy, stretching, kinetic control, breathing exercises, PNF exercises, management of abnormal muscle tone, education of patients befitting their needs and expectations or that of their chaperones.
