About Me

Hi, my name is Sophia Elina Potthoff from Dresden, Germany. I am a qualified physiotherapist holding a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physiotherapy, which I finished at Dresden International University as part of a dual study program combining academic education with extensive practical clinical training. In my bachelor's thesis, I investigated the relationship between everyday stress factors and lumbar spine stability in amateur gravel and road cyclists, using a cross-sectional design with questionnaires and clinical testing.
Since November 2024, I have been working in a private practice as a physiotherapist in Dresden. Through my clinical work, I continue to deepen my practical skills and broaden my experience with a focus on musculoskeletal conditions.
In addition to my formal physiotherapy education, I obtained a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification. This training supports my holistic understanding of movement, body awareness, functional rehabilitation and complements my clinical approach to patient care.
My professional and personal development has been significantly shaped by international experience. Between 2018 and 2020, I participated in a working holiday across Australia and New Zealand, where I worked in diverse environments, including on a dairy farm and through HelpX projects. These experiences strengthened my adaptability, resilience, and intercultural communication skills.
I have a strong interest in evidence-based physiotherapy, continuous professional development, and the global exchange of knowledge within the healthcare field. I am committed to further developing her clinical expertise and contributing to high-quality, accessible physiotherapy education.
If you don't find me on Physiopedia or in private practice you will probably find me outdoors. Either riding my bikes, running or hiking.
