User:Shawn Allen
Shawn Allen is currently employed as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education at South University Austin. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 2011with an MSc Kinesiology (Sports Medicine/Epidemiology). Previous to this, he graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc in Biology and Zoology in 1988, and a BSc in Physical Therapy in 1997. He has since worked as a physical therapist in Canada and the United States.
Mr. Allen has worked in various out patient settings including chronic pain, workers compensation rehabilitation programs and sports rehabilitation. He owned 2 clinics in Canada before moving to Texas to be the clinical coordinator of 28 north Texas clinics, and been a Director of Rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility. In addition, Mr. Allen has held the position of Assistant Professor in a doctor of physical therapy and masters of occupational therapy programs.
Mr. Allen has presented his injury prevention and injury prediction models/research at the Canadian Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference and the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine Injury Prevention Conference. He has been an invited speaker at Anhanguera University, Campinas (SP) and Paulista University, Jundiai (SP) City (State) in Brazil. Further to his teaching experiences, Mr. Allen has taught post-professional programs in the USA (Texas) and Brazil (Sao Paulo)
