Roberto was born in Italy in 1994 and has always been part of the sports world, playing basketball until the 2012-2013 season for Pallacanestro Biella in the first division in Italy.
In 2014, at the end of High school, he decided to move to Switzerland to attend the Bachelor Sc. Course in Physiotherapy at the Semmelweis University in Lugano. Aside from physiotherapy, Roberto begins on the APFIP path to becoming a physical coach specialised in Basketball. In 2018 he started his master's in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Pisa, which enabled him to gain important skills in rehabilitation and sports management.
During his years in Switzerland, from 2014 to 2021, due to his past in basketball, he finally realized his dream to become a coach in the youth teams of SAM Basket Massagno, Lugano Basket and Team Ticino.
From 2017 to 2021 he collaborates with the National Youth Basketball Team in Switzerland as a Physical Coach and was responsible for the evaluation tests in the health and preventive fields; in June 2018 he reached the coveted goal of being part of the technical staff of the Senior Swiss National Basketball Team, with the role of Physical and Assistant Coach.
In 2018, he decided to sharpen his knowledge in the physiotherapy field, becoming a Project manager of the NOVAVIA Project, company specialised in the organization of Rehabilitation courses held in Italy, Switzerland and France with some of the most important researchers in the world from a rehabilitation point of view.
He was also a teacher in the degree course "Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation - Neurodynamics" and “Differential Diagnosis in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation” in the BSc in Physiotherapy c / o L.U.de.S. Lugano Campus (Semmelweis University).
In the last year, Roberto has also collaborated as a physiotherapist for the Swiss National Swimming team in National and European competitions.
Roberto is currently working as a senior physiotherapist for Orthocure SportsMed Clinic in Dubai.
