Team Physical Therapist | Air21 Express Basketball Team June 2012 – present Management of acute injuries of athletes in the field such as sprains using standard emergency procedures. Prevention of further injuries through management of pre- and post-game injuries and/or musculoskeletal problems of athletes such as muscle aches and pains. Taping of an athlete’s injured body part with Kinesiotape to act as a support and prevention of further injury. Works cooperatively with colleagues to contribute to the overall productivity of the team. Assists staff trainer with practice and event coverage, evaluation treatment, and prevention of injuries. Assess and screen athletes for possible imbalances such as tightness and laxity, strength and weakness; that could lead to future or further injury. Treat the athlete prior to starting practice and games using a variety of PT techniques such as stretching, manual resistance, balance and coordination, soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and fascial manipulation.
