About Me[edit | edit source]
I am a first year physical therapy student at Bellarmine University[1] in Louisville, Kentucky. I am currently exploring the realm of possibilities within physical therapy during my graduate education. I have interests in the fields of wound care, neurology, and acute care settings. I am an APTA member[2] and would like to utilize any tools available to students to understand the opportunities our field has to offer. Research is an area that interests me as well. Experience I received with physical therapy before starting my DPT program included extensive shadowing experience and working at a small outpatient PT clinic for 10 months. This outpatient clinic also had nutritionists and chiropractors employed and I served as a therapy technician for the office, administering assigned therapy treatments. My shadowing experience was primarily spent in the hospital setting. I am searching to gain more knowledge of the different work environments and also the related possibilities with traveling physical therapy.
