About Me
[edit | edit source]

A clinician and an academician with 26 years of experience in the field of Electrophysiology and Musculoskeletal Physioptherapy. My experience of twenty six years in the field as an academician and a clinician has given me ability to work autonomously as well as integrate into a team with flexibility.

I began my career as a clinician and an academician and throughout my career, I am fortunate enough to work in both the scenarios - a clinician and an academician.

I am a Post graduate teacher in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy since 2006 and a PhD guide for Physiotherapy since 2015. Right from the beginning, I have always believed one thing that one needs to assess the patient thoroughly to be able to treat them efficiently. And hence all these years, my inclincation is towards diagnostics and clinical decision making. My passion for EMG NCV studies made me study and become proficiency in EMG NCV studies from American Academy of Clinical Electrodiagnosis, USA. It will not at all be an exaggaration if I say that I have perform and independently reported EMG NCV studies in almost 8000 patients till date.

I am also fortunate to be invited as a guest speaker and resource person for almost 60-70 seminars, workshops and conferences. I was invited as one of the resource persons for a webinar titled STEP SAFELY " Reducing falls among elderly" organized by WHO and Monash University Accident Research Centre.

I also a co-investigator in a research on Reducing Burden following fractures which was a collaborative multicentric research by Government of India and National Trauma Research Institute, Australia.(www.aitsc.org)

I am a Joint Secretary for The Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) and National Head, Research Committee of IAP

I am an elected member for Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapy

I have been actively involved in the Organizing team in various conferences. I was an Organizing secretary for 5th Gujstate Conphycs (2011), National Conference on Orthopedic Rehabilitation (2013) and YUVA conclave (2018). I was a Convenor, Scientific Committee for Sports Connect II and IV (2019, 2021) and 59th National Conference of IAP (2022) and Organizing Chairperson for 60th National Conference of IAP (2023)

I am truly blessed to recieve various awards like Sikandar of Physio (Sports Connece II, 2019) , Aryabhatt of Physio” – Best Academician Award (Sports Connect IV, 2021) and Pride of Gujarat (60th National IAP Conference, 2023)

I have also served as Corona Warrior serving as an administrator for field duties on behalf of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. I was a Team member for preparing “Guidelines for Indian Physiotherapists for Physiotherapy treatment of Covid 19 patients in Acute Care settings” and “Guidelines for Indian Physiotherapists for Physiotherapy treatment of post Covid 19 issues” – Guidelines prepared by The Indian Association of Physiotherapists for Indian Physiotherapists

Being an academician for 26 years , I am also an active member for Board of Academics for various Universities and Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapy.
