About Me
[edit | edit source]

Louise Johnson PhD, MSc, MCSP is a Lecturer at the University of Bradford. Louise has ongoing research interests regarding the contribution of vision and somatosensory information to mobility and falls in the elderly, and in the sensori-motor control of amputee gait. Currently her research is investigating the sensori-motor control of gait in lower limb amputees and whether the reliance on vision to control the prosthetic limb is reduced when using a prosthesis with a self-aligning foot-ankle device. Louise also has links with the Bradford Institute for Health Research and is collaborating in a feasibility study entitled ‘Improving functional status of community dwelling frail older people: the impact of a targeted exercise programme’.
