I graduated from Aberdeen's Robert Gordon University in Scotland in 2010 with a BSc (HONS) in Physiotherapy and have since completed my 2 year rotational post in Angus CHP for NHS Tayside. During this time I completed 6 month rotations in the following placements: Orthopedics; Stroke Rehabilitation; Parkinson's Disease Rehabilitation; Care of the Elderly; Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Community. I also completed a season as Assistant Physiotherapist with Ellon R.F.C
I have a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy and have completed many courses in my two years post-graduate. I completed the peripheral module towards my Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine which I found invaluable prior to commencing my outpatients rotation. I take a very holistic approach to treatment and try to encompass the bigger picture for every individual.
I am currently on a career break and tavelling the world with my husband. I am collecting valuable experience as I go and shadowing with as many therapists as possible. I hope to gain a varied insight into different approaches to assessment, treatment and management of a range of conditions. While being on the road it is challenging to maintain CPD and I am delighted to be introduced to Physiopedia which has been magnificient in helping me do so.
Upon my return home, I hope to seek experience in private practice and the NHS in Scotland and continue to broaden my knowledge base in a new environment. I hope to continue my sports physiotherapy development and engage with a rugby team. I hope to complete my Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine and Acupuncture training.
