About Me[edit | edit source]
I am a 2012 graduate from M.S Ramaiah Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Bangalore, where I achieved first class degree. During my physiotherapy degree I was fortunate to gain respiratory experience in the “Trinity Hospital and Heart Foundation” Hospital Bangalore where I worked in the High Dependency Unit, CCU along with my involvement in the weekly pulmonary rehabilitation programme. During my physiotherapy degree I also attended more than 20 “Awareness Health camps” along Bangalore India as a volunteer along with Trinity Hospital Medical faculty. I recently completed Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation course by Lisa Harvey from Australia and lower limb amputation course on Physiopedia. I am currently pursuing Post-graduation from M.s Ramaiah Institute of Physiotherapy under Coventry University UK. I am an active volunteer of “Vajpayee Arogya Yojna” India I thoroughly enjoy working in a hospital setting and am keen to gain further volunteer experience. During my post-graduation degree, I gained experience:
•Assessing patients’ physical abilities through evaluative procedures and functional ability tests
• Hands-on experience in planning and implementing programs of physiotherapy; healing exercise, instructions, manipulations, the use of electro-therapeutic and additional mechanical equipment and hydro-therapy.
• Adept at establishing treatment goals with patients based on physical diagnoses
• Well versed in evaluating usefulness of treatment plans and adjust accordingly.
However, both patients and advisors have praised my strong communication skills. I am able to effectively explain procedures to patients and answer any questions they have, always speaking in a patient and kindly tone. Even when I am carrying a particularly heavy caseload, I always take the time to speak with each patient, and make sure they feel comfortable and confident in their treatment plan. In my free time, I enjoy doing painting and writing poetry. I had received first prize in literately event organize by M.S Ramaiah medical college inter-college competition, was winner for 4 years in Hindi poetry writing event.
