I am a physical therapy student in the University of Florida's DPT program, c/o 2012. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2008. As an undergraduate, I worked as research assistant for the College of Health and Human Performance. I was involved in a randomized peer-assisted social-cognitive physical activity intervention for adults 50 years old and over. As part of my work, I conducted physical assessments with participants including tests of sub-maximal cardio-respiratory fitness, functional capacity, and task modifications in ADL's.
Upon completion of my neurorehabilitation course with Dr. Andrea Behrman I assisted a faculty member in the treatment of two post-stroke individuals with locomotor training on a treadmill/body weight support system to help improve gait and facilitate recovery.
Currently, I am completing my first 8-week clinical internship at an outpatient-neuro clinic treating primarily SCI, post-stroke, and TBI patients.
