My name is Joshua Meraveka. I'm 33 years old. I am currently undertaking bachelors of physiotherapy at Divine Word University, Madang, in Papua New Guinea. Here is a brief profile of my responsibilities and duties about my career.

Responsibilities: • Establishing and running of the Physiotherapy Unit since 2013 • Charting, dissecting and disbursement of annual and quarterly reports to respective directors • Physiotherapy Annual Activity Plan • Contributions in the structure and job descriptions of physiotherapy positions • Member to the Hospital’s Patient Care Committee and chairman of the mandatory committee; Occupational Health and Fire safety • Establishing the physiotherapy standards and treatment protocols, awaiting board and management approval • Continuous rehabilitation and patient care management for the major units of the hospital. • Physiotherapy awareness and in-house training for nurses and other health professionals • Physiotherapist in provincial sporting activities • Contribution to the recent hospital fundraising (corporate dinner)

Responsibilities:

• Drafting of the report for the National Disability Survey for the Fiji National Council for the Disabled Persons (FNCDP) • Conduct literature search for the street women study and dissecting the data for the final report. Assist in conducting training for the research assistants in analysing data and coordinating field research at major hot spots in and around Suva. • Presenting and identifying key elements of development to the major stake holders and local level governments of the Fiji Islands with regard to the National Disability Survey. • Develop strategic plans for an improvement in the study over the future.
