Heidi Johnson Eigsti was born in Duluth, MN. In 1986, Dr. Eigsti received her B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Colorado. Clinically she practiced at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado for 14 years followed by a transition to working in early intervention. She earned her Board Certification as a Pediatric Specialist from the American Physical Therapy Association in 1997 and her re-certification in 2007. At Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah, she earned her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2007. Dr. Eigsti’s work on a federally funded model demonstration grant resulted in the development of a transdisciplinary early intervention service delivery model (ENRICH) for children ages 0-3 years of age with neurologic dysfunction. Dr. Eigsti has presented nationally on the topics of intervention models of service delivery and assistive technology options for young children. She provides ongoing consultation to the Colorado Department of Education Results Matter Outcome Measurement System and other state lead agencies responsible for service delivery to infants and young children with disabilities and their families. She is currently a faculty member at Regis University, School of Physical Therapy in Denver, Colorado. Her teaching responsibilities include incorporating the pediatric client management into the physical therapy curriculum. Dr. Eigsti also teaches courses in evidence based practice, critical inquiry, kinesiology, physical therapy examination, neurological management and psychosocial aspects of healthcare. Her doctorate research dissertation is dedicated to outcome measurement for infants and young children with disabilities.
