The Physiopedia Trustees bring a unique set of skills and experience together to support the Physiopedia charity and help it achieve its aims.

Rachael Lowe[edit | edit source]

Rachael Lowe.png Raechel (UK) is a physiotherapist and Physiopedia co-founder.
Rachael is a qualified physiotherapist with a first class degree from Sheffield Hallam University. Rachael set up her own private practice in West Yorkshire, which grew and developed into three clinics, and it was during this time that Rachel became interested in the use of technology in the physiotherapy profession. Rachel established the Physiopedia project in 2008 with the ambitious goal of providing free and open access to all physiotherapy and physical therapy knowledge to improve global health. Physiopedia is now the largest and most popular physiotherapy related website. Rachel aims to use her specialist subject knowledge of the physiotherapy profession and her technology skills to promote the advancement and inclusion of the use of technology within the profession.

Tony Lowe[edit | edit source]

Tony Lowe.jpg Tony (UK) is an e-learning consultant and Physiopedia co-founder.
Fascinated by the opportunities presented by the then new Internet and how this could be used to support teaching and education, Tony became an e-learning developer at the University of Leeds where he worked in a variety of subjects. Leaving Leeds, he established Webducate and it was when exhibiting this company at a conference he introduced Rachel to this exciting and rapidly expanding world of Web 2.0. This exposure eventually led to the creation with the launch of first Physiospot in June 2006 and then Physiopedia launched in 2009. Apart from being the co-founder, Tony is also the geek behind Physiopedia. He is responsible for setting up and looking after the Mediawiki platform and dealing with all technical related issues.

Elaine Lonnemann[edit | edit source]

Elaine Lonnemann.png Elaine (USA) is a physical therapist and Associate Professor at Bellarmine University.
Elaine teaches as an Associate Professor at the Bellarmine University in Louisville Kentucky and teaches for the University of St. Augustine, in their continuing education and online division of learning. Elaine has been drawn to the practice of manual physical therapy and has practiced in a variety of settings. Her interests and awareness in medical screening and treatment of the spine have progressed in these environments. She has Physiopedia badges for project director and bronze Physiopedia

Michael Rowe[edit | edit source]

MR profile pic.jpg Michael (South Africa) is a physiotherapy lecturer at the University of Western Cape in South Africa.
As an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of the Western Cape, Michael conducts research into the use of emerging technologies to change teaching and learning practices in undergraduate physiotherapy education. Michael's PhD evaluated the use of technology-mediated practices in clinical education, and resulted in the development of a set of design principles for creating blended learning environments. Michael publishes and presents his research at national and international conferences in both clinical and mainstream education. See Michael's profile.

Hilary Weatherstone.png Hilary (UK) brings legal and finance knowledge to the team.
Apart from being a Trustee for Physiopedia, Hilary is also an Investment Director in Growth Finance at Beringea.

Brenda Myers[edit | edit source]

Brenda Myers Trustee.png Brenda (Canada) is the past Secretary General of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy.
Brenda was also an Executive Director of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in 1986 for just over 8 years with a BScPT; MHSA in physical therapy and health services administration.
