Review Questions
[edit source]

1. Date of Review:

  • 25/03/2015

2. Physiopedia Page Title:

  • Achilles Tendon

3. In a sentence please outline your general impression of this article:

  • Good information on anatomy with use of references to support data. Good use of images and video and links throughout to other relevant pages within Physiopedia.

4. What are the strengths of this article?

  • Good links to pathology/injury and treatment techniques for relevant conditions which affect the tendon.

5. What areas of this article could be improved?

  • While there is not a template for Tendons specifically the article could benefit from following the Tendon Page (http://www.physio-pedia.com/Tendon) which gives a few further areas that can be considered in relation to tendons. Might be easier to follow if the Clinical Examination Section was broken down into a number of subheadings including Observation, Palpation, Special Tests, Outcome Measures.

6. Is the content on the page comprehensive and appropriately structured?

  • Yes, possible some small changes with edition of further sub headings as identified in previous question.

7. Is the page written in an appropriate style for practicing clinicians?

  • Yes

8. Are the key points made on the page referenced correctly?

  • Yes

9. Are all the appropriate issues and arguments included in the page?

  • Yes, could look to add further links to pathology/injury as they are developed within physiopedia. Could make for easier reading with addition of further subheadings.

10. Are any key and recent pieces of research missing from the page?

  • None that I know of but I am not an expert in this area. No Pubmed Feed included so added that in.

11. Did you find any errors in the content? (Please review the article for accuracy and correct any factual errors as well as any misleading or

inaccurate content. You do not need to correct grammatical and spelling errors.)

  • No errors that I found but made some minor changes to format to make easier reading.

12. Are there any topics that are not included in the article/topic that you would like to see?

  • Could be further subheadings developed under Clinical Examination including Special Tests & Outcome Measures and Physiotherapeutic Techniques including injury prevention, healing. Also prehaps a resource section which provides links to other key resources in relation to the topic.

13. Are there any topics that you feel should be covered in greater or less detail?

  • I would provide further options under Physiotherapeutic Techniques.

14. Did you feel the content was current? If not, how could it be more up-to-date?

  • Yes

15. Finally, would you use this article in your teaching or clinical work? Please state the reasons why or why not?

  • Yes, its a good resource for a quick overview of AChilles Tendon with links to relevant pathology/injury.

Please record your suggestions to improve the page below:
