  • pharynx (throat)
  • larynx (voice box)
  • trachea (windpipe)
  • bronchi, and lungs.

The respiratory system is divided based on structure and function. The most basic function of the system is to provide oxygen to the body and remove carbon dioxide. Though it also performs some non-respiratory functions.

  • Lower Respiratory System

Based on function the system is divided into two zones:
