The Medical Research Council (MRC) Muscle Scale is a scale of measuring the power or strength produced by muscle contraction with was originally described in the paper Aids to the Investigation of Peripheral Nerve Injuries (War Memorandum No. 7), with was originally released in 1943. Measurement is scores on a 0 to 5 scale, with 5 representing maximal strength.
