I have a background as a distance runner, competing in track and cross country during grade school and later at the university level.  I enjoy running as a past time, as well as an integral part of staying healthy.  I am also a twin, you can look for him around Physiopedia, he is also a physical therapist and a Physiopedia volunteer editor.

As a clinician, much of my experience is in the acute care (hospital) setting, working with patients following surgery, with acute illness, and other conditions.  I love the hospital environment, and the opportunities it provides to help people at times when they are in most need of it.  My particular interest lie in the area of critical care, cardiac care, and respiratory care, including transplants.  More recently, I transitioned from working in the hospital setting to working as a telehealth physical therapist serving patients in the elder care, assisted living, and community care settings.  I feel that telehealth is one of the positives that has come from the COVID-19 pandemic as it has the potential to fill in critical gaps in the provision of healthcare, especially in areas and settings where access and personnel are limited.

Revision as of 22:37, 9 November 2022

My name is Justin, I am a physical therapist and a proud member of the Physiopedia Community. In addition to having my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, I also have a Bachelors of Science in Health, and I am currently an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist.

As a physical therapist I have interests in all areas of patient care, but in particular I am passionate about cardiovascular and post-surgical care. Much of my experience is in the acute care hospital setting, but I also have considerable experience in telehealth care resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am adamant about utilizing the most up to date information to guide my practice, and I am excited to help other healthcare professionals, students, and caregivers do the same.
