My name is Richard, and I am a newly enrolled doctor of physical therapy student based in the United States. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience at Kenyon College. Because of a personal experience in my family with stroke recovery, I am particularly interested in the neurological applications of physical therapy. For my undergraduate thesis, I completed a mock proposal on modified constraint-induced therapy (mCIT/ mCIMT) as an intervention for severe stroke patients. I am also passionate about developing knowledge in global healthcare (specifically, international collaboration in physiotherapy and involvement with organizations such as WCPT). Though I am still developing my skills, I&nbsp;am not entirely new to the Physiopedia community. I completed the online Physiotherapy Management of Spinal Cord Injuries Course in June, 2014. I look forward to contributing to the site and cooperating with physiotherapists around the globe.<br>

About Me[edit | edit source]

My name is Richard, and I am licensed physical therapist based in the United States. My experience is primarily in the inpatient rehabilitation and home care settings, however I also have an interest in outpatient neurological therapy, focused on vestibular rehab and Parkinson's disease. I am currently focusing my continuing education on non-pharmacological pain management strategies for chronic pain, particularly in pain neuroscience and patient education.

I am passionate about developing knowledge in global healthcare (specifically, international collaboration in physiotherapy and involvement with organizations such as WCPT). Though I am still developing my skills, I am not new to the Physiopedia community. I completed the online Physiotherapy Management of Spinal Cord Injuries Course in June, 2014, and I completed my initial volunteer training and yellow belt certification in April 2015. I have dabbled in additional courses since then. I continue to operate as a volunteer, and I look forward to contributing further and cooperating with physiotherapists around the globe.
