Dr. Steve Karas is a professor, researcher, and clinician at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. He obtained his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Chatham University and his Doctorate from Andrews University. He holds a certification in manual physical therapy from The North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and an orthopedic specialists designation form the APTA. He teaches Spine, manual therapy, and facilitates PBL in the musculoskeletal portion of the curriculum. His current research includes investigation on the clinical use of specificity of technique, knowledge translation of spinal manual therapy, and the relationship of the thoracic spine to other areas of the body. He has presented nationally and internationally on these subjects. Therapists interested in performing clinical research on these subjects are encouraged to contact him. Personal interests include golf, running, cycling, and traveling to The Turks and Caicos Islands.
