About Me
[edit | edit source]

After spending the early years of my career working in the reinsurance industry in London, a job relocation took me to Bahrain at the beginning of 1999. Two years later I decided to leave the corporate world behind, in order to follow my passion and nurture my interests in biomechanics, yoga (which I had been practising since I was 18), massage and Pilates. I have been studying, practicing and teaching Pilates since 2004, and became a Merrithew™ Instructor Trainer in STOTT PILATES® Mat & Reformer in 2009 when I also established my own company  “STUDIO RCT Pilatesbahrain” located in the heart of Bahrain. I am also an Instructor Trainer for STARK BODYFLYING, BOSU, freeFORM board, Merrithew ™ TOTALBARRE, CORE, ZENGA (mat & reformer) representing them worldwide.

I was recognized by the Pink Ribbon Program as a post-rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist (BCES) and certified through the years in Suspension Training with TRX , The Roll Model and more recently with the EBFA as a barefoot training specialist at level 1. I am also a Yoga Teacher Trainer with the RYA, as a result of 500 hours of training and many years practicing Iyengar Yoga. I created my own flow with 'YOGAFITLATES™ a discipline I teache regularly in her studio .

I am an active member of the Pilates Teacher Association UK and I specialize in myofascial therapies. I completed level 1 & 2 Anatomy Trains and Kinesiology through Touch for Health at Level 4 completing a proficiency test. In 2017, I trained in Matrix Rhythm Therapy, developed by Dr. Ulrich G. Randoll at the University of Erlangen/Nuremberg, Germany, for treating and preventing medical conditions connected with the musculoskeletal system.

I am also a qualified Aromatherapist and Reflexologist and have attended many workshops and seminars in the specialised areas of the disciplines I teach , continuously updating my education : “Vojta Techniques" for treatment of scoliosis , "The Mulligan Technique " for mobilization with movement manual therapies, "Kinesiology taping" to name a few.

I love the emotional reward and satisfaction of really being able to improve people’s lives with what I do, let it be movement, massage or helping them meet their goals , reducing their pain and improving their mobility and posture. Due to my commitment to my profession I have many long term clients, as well as students that have become teachers around the world and teach to the high standards I set for myself.

Additionally I have studied languages, speaking English and Italian fluently and able to translate written French, German, Russian and Spanish. I also hold a bachelor's degree in statistics and mathematics.
