Michael K Sunmoni is an undergraduate Physical therapy student of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He is one of two Physiotherapy Students from the University of Lagos representing all Physiotherapy students in the University of Lagos at the national level; advocating for their needs and rights in line with the association’s constitution and raising a bill if need be.

He serves as a Global Affairs Core Team Member of the Global Physiotherapy Day of Service where he fosters international engagement by collaborating with various Physiotherapy groups (World Physiotherapy, National associations etc).

He works as a Communications Intern of the Voice of Specially Abled People where he engages in outreaches to disability sector leaders, rehab experts and corporate social responsibility executives.

He is a recipient of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy-EKO Annual General Meeting (March 2022) Sponsorship and sponsorship of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program on Medical Imaging (June 2022).

He has served as a student physical therapist volunteer at the 26th Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) games at the University of Lagos where he provided physical therapy and first aid services to athletes that sustained sport injuries.

In September 2020, Michael was awarded the Second Prize Winner of the Nigeria Association of Physiotherapy Students (NAPS) Elevator Pitch Competition where he pitched about: 'Solutions to Physiotherapy Brain Drain in the Country'

In August 2021, Michael was selected to be among the top 10 youths to represent Lagos Division, Lagos State, Nigeria (Ministry of Youth and Social Development) in Leadership, Citizenship and Volunteerism. In the same month, he was selected as a Class of 2021 Millennium Fellow, joining over 2,000 leading peers from 120+ campuses from over 29 nations - all committed to having bold social impact!. Still in the same month, Michael was selected from a pool of over 500 applicants to join 49 other high impact entrepreneurs and leaders shortlisted from over 85 Nigerian tertiary institutions to participate in a 2 weeks intensive boot-camp organized by The Bridge Program.

He is an advocate of the Global Schools Program where he empowers schools and teachers globally to educate children about the sustainable development goals.
