Matt Richards has been working as a physiotherapist since graduating in 1999, initially in the public hospital system and in private practice since 2002. He has worked collaboratively within Spinal Management Clinics of Victoria for the past 10 years and is currently enrolled in a PhD researching primarily psychosocial back pain at La Trobe University in Melbourne. Matt is primary author of a recently published systematic review entitled: "The effectiveness of physiotherapy functional restoration for post-acute low back pain: A systematic review" (Manual Therapy 2013; 18:4-25). As part of his PhD, he is currently investigating predictors of outcome in low back pain following the STOPS randomised controlled trials completed by colleagues and myself at La Trobe.
