I qualified in 2001 and have worked in private practice since then.My special interests are sports injuries and orthopedics. Currently I am not practicing, but spending more time raising three amazing children. I enjoy the research aspect of my profession and am busy with my doctoral degree.

Volunteer at Physiopedia. Focusing mainly on Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy topics.

Compiled evidence based research reading lists on a contract basis for the MSc (Exercise and Sports Physiotherapy) degree at UCT.

During this period I completed my dissertation component of my Masters degree, and did locum work at Caryn Adam Physiotherapists in Strand.

July 2013 – April 2014

Employed at Sophie Chandler and Associates Physiotherapy (Port Elizabeth) as senior physiotherapist as well as the team physiotherapist for the Chevrolet Warriors Cricket Franchise (Eastern Cape). As team physiotherapist I was responsible for the day to day management of the players as well as travelling with the team and attending all matches. Management of the team included pre- and post-season biomechanical screenings, the development of appropriate rehabilitation programmes, injury management as well as interaction with all members of the medical team and coaching staff.

Own practice at Grey High School, Port Elizabeth

I started my own practice in 2005 at Grey High School, Port Elizabeth. I treated a variety of sports injuries as well as orthopedic conditions. In conjunction with the day to day running of the practice, I also gained experience in the financial management of running a practice, the marketing of my services and the interaction with parents and coaches. I was actively involved with all sports teams and worked closely with the coaching staff. In 2011 I sold the practice to spend more time at home raising our three children.

January 2002 – December 2004

Employed at Harry Engelbrecht Physiotherapists Inc (Pretoria), managing a practice at Waterkloof High School. My responsibilities involved the day to day running of the practice, marketing and public relations. I gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
