About Me[edit | edit source]

KPJ.jpg

I am from the UK but since 2005 I have been working in private practice in St Lucia, a small island in the Caribbean. I did my Physiotherapy training at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. After qualifying, I found myself working in Neuro and Rehabilitation which are skills I have brought to my work in private practice. I also use the same skills when working with musculoskeletal conditions and sports; I have a passion for analysing biomechanics to improve performance and prevent injuries.

I am the Content Manager for Physiopedia and also used to write a weekly column for a national newspaper, in St Lucia, to educate and inform the public on general health and well-being.

What I Do For Physiopedia[edit | edit source]

Being the Content Manager for Physiopedia is such an exciting role. With over 3,000 pages and over 2 million visitors from the world each month it is important to monitor the pages for quality and ensuring they are up to date with relevant information and the latest evidence. That is a big task but luckily I do not have to do this alone, I am part of a large content team, physiotherapists from all over the world who volunteer their time to help with the Physiopedia mission - to contribute to global health through universal access to physiotherapy knowledge. I have to say I have the best role in Physiopedia, there is always something to do and new things to learn. When I took on the challenge of the Content Manager role I was not quite sure what to expect, and that has not changed, there are no two days that are the same and my tasks are forever-evolving, just when you think you are on top of things Rachael has a new idea of how things could be better. Every week I look through pages to check for errors, ensure that they are formatted correctly and make sure they belong to a category. I also activate new editing accounts and answer page queries.
