About Me
[edit | edit source]

Today, mankind has made unprecedented changes on the face of the earth and has turned every obstacle in the process into a new milestone. Being a Physiotherapist, I have been actively engaged at all levels for professional growth.

During my formal training in post-graduation, I developed a strong affinity towards sharing and learning more about Neuro-Physiotherapy and my fascination with the intricacies of curriculum and lack of streamlining, it grew even more intense. I was deeply moved and in some way frightened by the prospect of imagining myself in the shoes of PTs who weren’t thorough with their applications. But simultaneously I felt myself empowered by the knowledge and skills that I was willing to share to make these individuals more efficient. After post graduating I got a job in Aditya Birla Company, Hindalco Dahej that offered the field of clinical practice with a perfect blend of impregnable and experimental work.

Thereafter, my journey to learning took a geometric progression under the influence of editing experience with a renowned Physiotherapy Magazine into my badge. Later I got the best job which I seeked for long i.e. Lectureship job in Institute of Health Science, Bhubaneshwar and to add icing on cake I got good opportunity in Bangalore as an Academic and Research PT in a Neuromusculoskeletal Centre. Skills turned into Achievements and now I'm instructor for Ergonomics and Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation.

I have been an altruistic person from childhood so my concern towards the Physiotherapy Community at large was first concern. The more I realized the wretched scenario, the greater I empathized with the immense sufferings PTs endured because of lack of qualified teachers.

Many people think Physiotherapy in India is something to be thwarted if possible. But I believe that it holds a promising future if standardization of PT education is made by the government. I was particularly interested in Physiopedia as it can give me an opportunity to profoundly influence PTs education. Soon I realized that there is something called volunteer jobs too for it.

I understand the key to sustained progress in this age of internet and free access to information is to make society at large avail with the open access articles. There are many primary sources of archives, manuscripts and collections often hindered by private ownership which permits either on a highly selective basis or not at all. Based on these facts I support open access scripts which involves dissemination of high quality researches and I agree to be a part of Physiopedia. Through this I will try and provide updated information which will include high quality scientific publications.

“The excitement of learning separates youth from old age. As long as you’re learning, you’re not old,” and I learn from inquisitive questions that posited in my mind.

In a Nutshell:

I earned my Bachelor's as well as Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Shree B. G. Patel College of Physiotherapy, Anand, Gujarat following which I served Aditya Birla Copper company, Hindalco Dahej as a Consultant PT for a year. Later I was recruited as a Lecturer in Institute of Health Sciences, Bhubaneshwar where I served for almost five months and trained around 100 Physiotherapists. And the journey in Academics continues.

I’m passionate towards professional growth and indulge with dedication to achieve it. Presently working as an Instructor for Ergonomics and Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation. Following Rachael Lowe’s vision to set up a platform for PT’s education I want to contribute my share of knowledge. I was also the Junior Editor for Physiotimes Magazine for four years. Through Physiopedia, I envisions spreading Physiotherapy education, practice and awareness all over the world.
