Claire O’Reilly is a physiotherapist working in refugee health, with experience across conflict and development settings in the Middle East and East Africa. Clinically, Claire is particularly interested in the treatment of chronic pain, and the physical manifestations of emotional trauma. She is passionate about investing in local capacity, and making research a sustainable component of the humanitarian health response.

Claire has been a contributing author to a textbook on Physiotherapy in Mental Health, a volume on Ethics in Humanitarianism and is a frequent university guest lecturer, advocating for the inclusion of rehabilitation in challenging contexts.

Claire is currently a technical and policy advisor for physical trauma rehabilitation in the Middle East.
