Anatomical Movement[edit | edit source]

Forearm pronation

Testing position[edit | edit source]

Patient is seated with the shoulder adducted by their side, elbow flexed to 90 degrees and forearm in the neutral position to start.

A simple trick is to have the patient hold a pen or pencil for ease of measurement.

Goniometer Placement[edit | edit source]

AXIS LOCATION STATIONARY ARM MOVEMENT ARM
over tip of 3rd digit parallel with the humerus parallel to dorsal forearm surface

Expected Findings[edit | edit source]

Expected range of motion is 80 - 90 degrees[1]
