What do I need to do to get started using Physiopedia?[edit | edit source]

Once you have decided to contribute your expert knowledge to Physiopedia, simply sign up for a username and begin creating content.  Be sure to read the Experts step by step guide before you get started.  We encourage you to contact us about ideas or questions you have for using Physiopedia.

How can I monitor my pages?[edit | edit source]

Each Physiopedia page has a History tab where you can view contributions that have been made to your pages.  Additionally, you can flag your pages by using the Watch feature on each page.  You can provide feedback to users that have contributed to your pages either privately by emailing them from their profile page, or publicly using the Discussion tab on each page.

How can I protect my pages?[edit | edit source]

We are unable to fully protect certain areas of Physiopedia to only be edited individuals. However when you have identified the pages that you will edit and manage let us know and we will take the following actions:

  • At the top of each of your pages a comment will be added stating that the page is being managed by yourself.
  • Any vandlism of your pages will be removed and that user banned from editing Physiopedia.

What 'shape' does my work have to be loaded to Physiopedia?[edit | edit source]

You can add text based contributions yourself to Physiopedia with the simple editing tool.  If this method does not suit you, we would be happy to add your work to the site for you.  In this case you should email your work directly to us.

Can I cite my contributions in a CV?[edit | edit source]

Of course you can, we would love you to do so! Any contributions that you make to the site can be tracked and viewed on your personal 'user contributions' page.

Is there a quality assurance loop ...or do we let the users do that via feedback?[edit | edit source]

As a wiki anything that is added to Physiopedia can be edited by any registered user, this is what provides the quality assurance (and development) for the whole Physiopedia project.  Our editors also monitor all the changes that are made in the site and you could also easily monitor your own contributions if you wish.

Is full access to the site free and are there any other 'conditions' that I should know about?[edit | edit source]

Yes full access to the site is free.  Make sure that you read the terms of service, general disclaimer, copyright and privacy policy before committing your work to Physiopedia to ensure that you are happy with how the site works.

Is there a way of getting promotion for my work through tagging the source of a contribution?[edit | edit source]

If you are keen to go ahead contributing to Physiopedia you will be able to add links to your work from the pages that you write, you will be permanently featured on our page of acknowledgements and will also be entitled to free course advertising space on Physiopedia.  If however there is any other way you would like to promote yourself we are open to suggestions so please let us know your ideas.
