About Me
[edit | edit source]

I am a Physiotherapist, presently work as Assistant Manager - Research & Development in RECOUP Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation center, Bangalore, India. I graduated, Bachelors of Physiotherapy from Government Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, KK Nagar, Chennai, TN, India, which is the 2nd best Institute in Asia offering Physiotherapy.

During my graduation I have been under clinical postings treating a variety of orthopedic and neurological patients. Our institute was Government-aided and the only one that offers FREE therapy for Cerebral Palsy kids since 1979. Gradually, I developed a liking towards rehabilitation of Stroke patients during my research project, which i took up in my final year of Graduation. My study involved the use of CIMT in recovery of sub-acute stroke patients. This gave an inspiration for me to do my specialization thereafter in the field of Neurology as Masters in Neuro-Physiotherapy under Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, TN, India.

I have participated and won in Paper and Poster presentation competitions at Inter-state, National & International Level. During my period of post-graduation, I worked as a Research Associate and worked in research projects on Evidence based practice in PT, community ambulation of stroke patients, vestibular rehabilitation and cerebral palsy.

In the due course of the time my research on "KAP of EBP among PTs" got international acclamation as it got peer reviewed and accepted for presentation at the EVIDENCE LIVE 13, organised jointly by the BMJ and CEBM, University of oxford, UK.

I have also received a Grant from BMJ and CEBM, University of Oxford for the above purpose.

Ever since my 1st year of stepping into my Graduation on 2006, I have been involved with treating patients who are paralysed and in painful situations and my journey has still not ended and I believe my entry into the PHYSIOPEDIA will still more be helpful for me in my personal and professional growth & upliftment.
