Clinical Guidelines: Elderly Care
Introduction[edit | edit source]
Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) serve as a framework for clinical decisions and supporting best practices, that include recommendations intended to optimize patient care. They are a key aspect of patient centred care. They are informed by a systematic review of the evidence, and an assessment of the pros and cons of alternative care options. CPGs should follow a sound methodology to translate the best evidence into clinical practice for improving patient outcomes.[1]
